Coleman Keepers Campfire come on in!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Postby Wolffarmer » Sat Dec 31, 2011 12:05 am

Must be the lazy bone in me but I have never yet shooka shooka my pressured gas stuff. And so far every thing runs. Of course I did send one of my worst looking stoves to Doug.

But I do still have one that looks way worse than that one. Have not tried to fire it yet.

since there is a clog in the air intake, I guess I'll drain the good fuel, add water or the green gasoline, tons of BBs and shooka shooka again for awhile...until my neighbor comes out and gets his knickers in a twist at the noise. Then I'll drain it and try to take it apart and see what kind of blue-green varnish I have left...hopefully I can get this thing going again.

Blasted lantern. :x

if it got that Blue Green vanish/ cr@p in it - then you might want to pull the lower valve ?FA tube to give it a good cleaning

That's the plan...I need to put the vise on the bench and wrench the whole thing apart in as many pieces as I can and clean up the whole thing. Just hope I don't have to replace much.

But I thought it might be a good idea to do a little shooka shooka first. Just for kicks. You can't beat a good shooka shooka!

Just a suggestion - you might want to invest in a strap wrench. I use one all the time - gives a little more leverage without damaging the fount

The the tune of "The Hooky Pooky"

You put the BBs in
You put the BBs out
You put the BBs in
And you shooka all about.

Also Little bit of Navel Jelly - (phosphoric acid) will help get the varnish and carbon off the brass real quick - its what in Coke that many Coleman enthusiasts soak parts in - just higher concentrate - a little rubbing with some stainless steel wood and you'll get a bright brass polish with half the work.

and one more tip with the BBs - a magnetic pick up tool works good for getting the last few stubborn BBs out (you know what I mean - don't pretend you don't - been there shaking that fount for the last single bb to finally make it out)

. . . and the list begins

1. Running after the delivery person as you are sure that new to you pressure gas appliance just has to be delivered today. (Randy)

2. Do the Shooka, shooka

Maybe I just need a needle gun for the lantern...that'll fix what's ailing it!!

If I get it apart (we've heard that one from me before....) I'll have to share some Coke with it...do a little shooka shooka, whatever...

and then there's the pb blaster...I'm getting everything I can think of after that lantern. If I had a needle gun I'd sure threaten it with one. I bet that lantern would take itself apart at the sight!

If you have one of those old 1-2 gallon jugs, you could fill it with water and use it like a kettle ball. Or do the shooka shooka with it

Forget that, Maureen...use the DO!! Maybe throw some packs of BBs in there and use it like a kettle ball.

DO squats. DO lunges...

CI frying pan flies...

DO bicep curls...

CI frying pan triceps...

CI crunches..yup, hold a big frying pan against your chest and crunch away..

hamstrings with the DO handle hooked over the ankle..be sure to pad the achilles tendon...gotta do this standing or you will be in trouble :o

Oh, that's right..we are supposed to think of Coleman stuff. My bad!

But we have our own Teardrop Gym right in our own galleys!
