It's fairly complicated abdominal surgery..no cancer or anything, just some major repair work and some removal of non-essential parts. She will be in the hospital at least one night and then I get to be the caregiver (good thoughts toward that one, too!!)

No family around here..so I'm it. Not sure how she will be when she comes home..we are both a bit worried about this whole thing but it has to be done..she's 71 and will be around for over 20 more years, so she needs the tune up!

Please get the positive vibes going...and if you post a lighting picture I'll show it to her when I get to the hospital after work tomorrow when she's recovering...

Thanks everyone. I guess it's ok to post this here, since she is "Vintage camping equipment"...

I hope everything goes well. Burn a lantern all!

Thanks guys..5 hour surgery. Supposed to start at 7:15 this morning...I'm now at lunch and they should just be finishing up.

Post some pics tonight..even if they are 'retreads'... It's the thought that counts..I want to show her on my phone when I go back tonight.

Just trying to get through the day...dang I'm tired.

I showed her the pictures...she is really impressed. She says thank you for the lighting.

She is doing well..has to spend at least tonight here. She's not in any pain..and they said most patients are already feeling pain at this stage. They can already tell she's going to have to be duct taped to the bed when she goes home!

get those nylon cinch straps. They can be reused for camping, or who knows what.

I went out into the world today and scored me some Coleman. I really wasnt looking for stoves but I do really like older 425's. So whats just one more anyway. There is always room for just one more ------------- right?
I digress, I found this 425 D that is in pretty darn good shape. The guy asked asked me to make an offer so I offered $5 he said fine.

Looks like someone cared enough about this stove to pay mover to move it twice.

This one is going to be a restoration piece. I only have two 425 D stoves. For some reason I just dont find the D model much in the wild. Now I have two but only one white gas tank. So, its gona have to be a restoration.

Sounds good...can't wait to see it!

So what year is it? I'm too lazy to look at the sticky that directs us to the site with the years. I figure you already know!

So I take it that this will be a keeper. I know you aren't into the stoves, but this one sounds like a keeper.

I'm bummed...don't know if someone here got it...but a nice KampKook model 8 on ebay with an oven sold....I lost out on the last few seconds on it....and a quick check on the winning bidder indicated that, He had bid 26 times in the last 30 days on sporting goods items, and the majority of them were less than 1 hour. In the past, that indicates that it's maybe an item going to the Japanese ebay site. Rats...would have been a nice addition to round out the AGM portion of the museum....Oh well...there's always another down the road. Doug
