Hey Lee

I just saw this about the Scooter Cannonball. I'll be rooting for you. The route is a fair bit south of me so i probably will not be able to come down and cheer you, and every one else on.

A few years ago I met the guy that rode a Honda Helix on the Iron Butt Rally. He didn't win but he did finish. And pretty high up if i remember right. The Iron Butt would be a real killer for me. But I like the Scooter Cannonball. Made so one can enjoy the ride. Be safe, keep the greasy side down and the shiny side up.

Randy

Oh, Iron Butt Rally, it is a motorcycle endurance torture fest. Hits the four corners of the US, more or less. About 11,000 miles in 11 days. Plus bonus legs. Now those people are certifiable nuts in my book.

I have a 1970 R50/5 BMW that I took the motor and tranny out of and put them in a 1966 R50/2. No account for taste.

This weekend at the Colusa County Fairgrounds there will be a dutch oven cookoff. It is the 2012 Colusa Western Days DO Cookoff. Saturday March 31. I have seen up to 20 teams at this event. I will be competing on the Tommys Market Street Grill Team. We won the peoples choice award last year.

Last year the weather was bad, windy and cold and few teams showed up(I think is was 12) but it was still fun. Come and eat - tasting ticket are $5. If you want to compete the phone # is 530-458-5525. See ya there.

ps there is $1250.00 in prize money. And you get a patch .

Things I have learned so far,
Old Coleman fuel is one of those smells that you can't get out of your nose.
If you splash Coke in your face while scrubbing a part it will not harm you.
DO NOT stick your finger in the pump housing. (I should have taken a picture)
DO NOT hang the fount at head height, in the main pathway through the garage, or clean the garage so there is more than one path through, but then that would take away from Coleman time. (Luckily the paint was dry but I did end up with a small knot on my forehead).
Lastly I'm hooked, already thinking that next time I am at Sioux City, I will hit the flea market stores and good will.

This afternoon I did clean out an old tool box to house my tool collection for my lanterns and stoves.
