If its a lodge and its pre seasoned then go for it. You can season it all you want.

Hey I like those camp KampKooks.

I have 2. that is almost the same as that one. There are some tiny differences. But they are both great burners.

Hey Canned O'....did your DO come with the Lodge cookbook? A little booklet for starters?? I have one..I tried a few recipes...but I couldn't do exactly what they said, ingredients wise. So I improvised and it was great. Made chicken and rice...the best ever..with mushrooms and white wine. Made other stuff too, but that was the best. I have 2 DOs...my 12' Lodge preseasoned and a CW one without legs..I need to season it on the grill outside. I bought the CW CI set last Sept. and have only seasoned the big fry pan...use it often. I should get the griddle out and the other DO and get working on them. But...I have the 'hopper to work on right now.

Walmart also sells DO liners...those work well..kinda like crock pot liners..so you don't have as much of a mess...

why not cook in the DO this weekend???

Try the chicken and rice..I think it has chicken broth in it. I added canned mushrooms and wine..maybe some spices or at least some black pepper..gotta look at the recipe again. Usually mushrooms and wine fix things right up. And the DO, or maybe because it's cooked outside..I don't know, but it has the best flavor. I've added cream of mushroom soup, too. White wine kills any 'canned' taste. I think I added onion powder.

Gosh, I might just have to cook it again to remember what I did! How awful!!

DANG IT ! I seemed to have erased my most perfect reply...So I'll see if my memory does me justice..

Bein a self described "naturalist" and the kinda guy who like it "original".. I'll jus forego the liners. B'sides.. I ain't no girlyman ! I'm a MANLY MAN !!Rough and tough and fearless ! My forefathers ( or wazzit 3 mothers? ) cooked in a DO.. without a liner ! So will I !!

Now if you'll excuse me, I hafta sew a button on my pants.. finish sum needlepoint.. iron my bed sheets...and curl my hair( handlebar moustache)

BTW... I did not see the movie you made mention of...Do I need to drive up there in my 4wd truck and bring my gun ?( Sumhow it sounds better than drivin in my VW Bug and bringin my sling shot )

Well it turned out not so bad after all. You see after last nights city council meeting one of the councilwomen got into a fistfight will another lady. Cops - lawyers the whole maryann. What a mess. I thought I was going to be more involved but I think I am free of it.

Our meetings are crazy volatile lately. Scary sometimes. Cities are going bankrupt and people are losing there jobs and lives. :frightened:
