I want the font to dry just a little longer before I fire it up. Probably next weekend. I got some of my parts from Old Coleman Parts, and some from Ebay. I got a new frame from Ebay, The ventilator from a guy in whitby, and various brass parts from O.C.Parts. I think it cle3aned up rather well....

Next.... my 4m campstove...... :D

Old Coleman Parts Has the Knurled nuts...sells them in a two-pack....

This lantern never had any decals on it to begin with. It's a Coleman Sunshine of the Night... Made in Canada.

Looks good John. You can paint the brass fuel cap if you scuff it up a little.

Beautiful job on the lantern. :applause:

It gives me hope that the old lanterns I scounged up will look good. :worship:
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

Another nice job John. How did you get the ventilator that color? Wasn't the concensus that anything short of porcelin will burn off?

On another note does anyone know if the amber globes are anything special? There's a 200 in the junk store by me. It's in a little better shape than John's first one - the ventilator is not so beat up. I didn't look to see if the globe was the "sunshine" one - I don't think so. I couldn't read the date on the bottom without scuffing it up as there was a little rust.

Is it worth the $20 they're asking? Not that I need another project but I think it would be fun to re-build one. Thanks.

The ventilator is mint green and has the ceramic paint ont it like all other ventilators. Don't know what it came off of, but it fits the 200 A lantern.
Maybe a propane lantern?
