Coleman 413G Gold Bond 2-Burner Stove on EBay for $104.00

You only have only 1 day and two hours to bid this beauty even higher:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Coleman-413G-Gold-B ... 7C294%3A50

It's a nice stove, but for $104.00 ? Well, I guess the new ones are about $85.00 and this ones in good shape.

The repaint thing has been mentioned over on the Coleman forum as a way to jack the price on a non gold bond stove. It's been done by some less than scrupulous sellers. As with all items on E-Bay....Buyer Beware!!! Doug

Recently a faked Gold Bond lantern went for 356$. If you get into these type of items, be sure on your manufacturing dates. Someone took a 40$ lantern and made some dough on it. This guy wasn't as blatant as some can be, but still....it wasn't worth what was paid on it. Someone got a repainted 200A for a bunch of money. Doug

I bought a Gold 413G Coleman Stove at a yard sale a few years ago for $15.

It was in almost perfect condition.

I am aware of people repainting stoves to drive the price up and I donot want to sell this stove. It looks good right where it is.

Now first off if the guy at the yard sale was trying to scam someone he didn't do a very good job selling a Working Gold Coleman 413G for $15.

I took it home and scratched the paint in a few obscure areas and found that the Gold Paint went all the way through with no traces of green.

The original decal was also scraped off of the inside of the stove.

I know this to be true because there were flakes of it in the stove.

I have heard that Gold Coleman products were only made certain months of the year.

Now I don't want anyone to publicly post these dates because of counterfeiting.

If someone wishes to PM me these dates that would be great.

But, my stove was made in 9 of 79.

Do these dates fit the month/year that a Gold Coleman 413G Stove would have been made?

Thanks in advance.

Happy Trails

Len, I am noy sure on the exact dates on the Gold Bond stuff but I think you stove is in the right time frame. I know the lanterns I have seen on Terry Marsh's site are early to mid 70's. If you want to know for sure I have someone I can ask.

I think the gold bond's were made 1971 to 1973. Give or take a year or two. I still need one of the gold bonds and one of the turds to round out my collection.

I think your correct Dawn. Though I have seen what I was told to be a 1976 Gold lantern.

At any rate it looks great on the shelf on display and if anybody wants to flip it over to check the date...I'll just tell them NO.

I would like to get a decal for it, like this;

Len,
You might try Bill, the fellow at the site I linked below. He has a lot of decals not listed on his site. I've even gotten some oddball ones from him, he does real nice work and doesn't charge a fortune either.
