C0leman 530 or 502

Postby doitright » Sun Sep 13, 2009 9:24 am

I have had a long sought after 502 for a year now and loved it. Now I have a 530 and I like it better. They both heat about the same but the 530 tank dose not get hot like the 502. The 530 cleans up very easy no paint to worry about. The only con I can find so far is the height so may tip over if bumped but the tank stays cool and I do not like a hot tank of gas. Can anyone tell me the BTU of each? So far it takes about 20 min to get 10 cups of coffee done.

I believe the 502 is 7500. The 530 is 5000. http://www.oldtownyucca.com/coleman/scans/530_1.htm

Thanks for the reply. I have not finished my rebuild on my 502. I need to find high heat alum paint here where I live I can only find gray. When I get it painted I will be able to put them side by side and see how they heat.

Try autozone - that where i got mine - most chain autoparts store have it. Use it on my coleman lanterns with good results

We have a autozone here 50 miles north of Memphis but they do not have it. I will have to get to Memphis to find some.
