Scored another 200A

Postby TLC » Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:45 pm

I got lucky today and scored another 200A from Craigs list right here in town. This one was born on 3/63 and is in great shape considering it's age. One very small chip on the ventilator, otherwise no damage. It came in the original box with newspapers packed around it. The date on the newspapers was 1981. It's my guess it was the last time it was used.

I happy again, and only $10.00 lighter in the wallet.

Good score. Looks like a nice one. The only Coleman thing I have bought lately is a gallon of fuel tonight. :R

you know that that slight chip in the ventilator makes that 200A worthless - so just send it to me and I'll take care of disposing of it for you! (really nice find!)

Hi Dawn:
Did you get it at Wally World? That's the cheapest place to find Coleman fuel around here.

Nope F&F Speed shop. (Fleet Farm). Sorry, we don't do Wally World. Had to buy some while the $ is down to $8.49 a gallon. Also need to but some just in case you showed up to Cooler Near The Lake. Which reminds me I have another one that needs to be worked on. Ed found a 1962 (my birth year) one for me. works great as long as you pump it constantly to hold pressure. :R

nice find Tom!

that's a good price on fuel Dawn, beats the Wally world price by $.40 here in Reno, and they're the cheapest around.

You need a new fuel cap gasket. You can get a new fuel cap for $4-5 at most sporting goods stores if you can't find a gasket.

You're really making me feel old now. In 1962 I was a junior in HS. BTW, if there's nothing going on that weekend, I might drive up just to visit friends at Kohler.

Thanks, every so often I find one that dobyman missed. They're out there just a matter of being in the right spot at the right time. I'm still waiting to find that ultra perfect 200A with my name on it!!

I'll let you folks know in about three hours... I'm leaving here in a little bit to go look at a '62 200A w/ cylindrical metal container and copper funnel... but for quite a bit more than $10.

:scratchthinking:

But I GOTTA HAVE IT.

3 hours later...

Well, I GOT IT. It's a '62

It's been well-taken care of and (dunno about the drive home, but...) still had the mantle intact. The top is chipped at one point along the edge, otherwise...

Pics later! and after I get it running.
