Another new project

Postby Zollinger » Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:03 pm

Picture this.... I'm quietly sitting in my campsite during "Cooler Near The Lake 4" and up drives a suspicious looking red truck. I think to my self that looks like TLC/Tom's truck. Sure enough it was. We came to visit and pick up the Coleman convertable cooler that I have been holding for him. Then came show and tell time.... I had this problem child lantern that I have tore down many times and no matter what I did the dang thing would light up for a minute and promptly go out. At the last minute before we left for the rally I threw it in the Zollinger to work on if I got time. Friday night tore the #@?&% lanterns down and thought do or die time. Stretched the heck out of the F&A spring, put the lantern back together, and I'll be danged the lantern lit right up and continued to work the whole weekend. Wheww my last project done, or so I thought. Just as Tom's getting ready to leave my site he gives me a 200A. Kinda rough, but I did'nt have one. It's really true.... You do meet the nicest people teardropping. Thanks Tom. Thanks for the new project.

Your welcome Dawn. I consider it a trade for the cooler. Let me know if you get it going. If not I'll keep my eyes open for a better one for you. BTW, even though I wasn't camping.....thanks for more or less hosting the gathering. I'm sure everyone appreciated you getting the pavilion reserved and I did notice the huge banner you put up. Good job kiddo!!

Looks good until you look inside. Tom even put a new globe on it.

Shake it and you hear the rust inside the fount rattling around.

It's gonna be a project. I didn't have a single mantle lantern, but I do now! ;)
