Nice job on the restoration. I said a while back that I was through getting Coleman stuff, but, I've been working on a 502 single burner for my son this afternoon. Looking at your 443 makes me realize that I may only be just getting started........... Oh, and I just picked up a Coleman Filter funnel on Ebay a few minutes ago. Will it ever end????

I think I have thought this before also but when you see it you do not have one and it is a good price you know what? You end up at your work bench thinking man I can not believe I have done it again. Then guess what it will happen again and again. Must be Holders fault. Nah it is just coleman stuff it is cool easy to work on and fun. What else would I be doing watching TV?

Scott, that 443 looks great! Nice score on that one for sure

Yeah, there's little stopping once started on old Coleman stuff. But I've had worse habits

Sorry everybody if it's my fault....didn't intend that to happen....or did I? Just seems to me that most non-camper people don't care or know what they might have..."it's just junk...get rid of it!" For a few dollars and some time...you have something that operates and lasts for years.

Here's the fun thing...pick one up...redo it, and gift it to a fellow camper, or rebuild theirs. You are responsible at that point for maybe providing cooking or lighting their campsite for a long time and creating memories. I get a lot of enjoyment out of redoing one and giving it to a fellow camper, as others have with me. What goes around comes around.... Doug

That's right Doug - If it wasn't for you - i would have NEVER bought a used Coleman at a resale shop to fix er' up - probably would spent WAY too much for one that's new - and never had a father daughter moment restoring old Coleman's together- Would have spent days just sitting around the house watching TV instead of out hunting for colemans with my wife - Really what fun would that be? Maybe I'll just stick to Cast iron? NAWWWWWW Way too much fun restoring this stuff. i now have people who drop by with their colemans and we work on them together, maybe get them started as well.... And No Doug - you're not gettin' the 443  BYW - just picked up a '20s coleman AIR-O-LANTERN QL

What a great stove! Nice job on the resto too.

I bet's it's not much heavier than my steel-cased 424.

I love aluminum anything.

Sure do - they only made them for one year - 1963 (both the 442 & 443). It was thought that backpacker wanted something lighter - however, Backpackers wanted something smaller
