Coleman Stove

Postby Harold Butler » Sat May 29, 2010 6:37 pm

Hello all I picked up two stoves today and would like to determine the year they were first sold. One is a 425, and the other is a 425-F. Any information would be helpful. They both seem to be in good condition, and just need some cleaning up. The burners do not look like they have been on more than once or twice and will clean up good.
Thanks from someone who knows very little about the stoves.

http://www.oldcolemanparts.com/resources/tech/ops.cfm Here is a site that will show you how to light your new stoves. Off the top of my head, I think they are both early 70's. There should be a date stamped on the bottom. Good luck!

Hi Harold,
Dawn posted a good reference on stoves. On the 425F, if you look under the mounting tabs of the stove tank you should find stamping on each tab for the month and year built. On the other 425, does it have any letters after the numbers on the front of the case? The original 425s were built from '48 to '53 and should have a round bronze colored tank if it's an original 425 no letter. Post us some pics if you can, we always like to see 'new' stuff 8)

Hello Harold! You know, they say the Coleman bug starts with a seemingly innocent purchase. Be careful it doesn't become an addiction! :?
