Those are so cool looking. I have also never seen on in the wild. I think they must sucked to use. but then again I hate to iron. If it's not tea towls to embroider or quilt fabric, forget about the ironing! Although if I every see one and the $ is right it would look good in my craft/Coleman room.

My mom has one of those, for as long as I can remember it has set on the top of her Majestic wood cook stove. I'm sure she never used it, it just looks cool, the enamel is the same color as the stove doors. It has a nickle tank instead of painted is the only difference. I really need to ask her about that some time. Some collectors really get into the old irons and that one looks in good condition. No idea what they bring in price. And yeah Dawn, I hear they can be a fair amount of work, darn things are heavy!

that gives me an idea....

I went into the Hudson Bay Trading Post in Nakina, Ontario and they had several of the Coleman gas irons, brand new in the box. Looking back I guess I should have bought one, but who knew??
