Found a folding picnic table at a yard sale fer $10.
It is made by Milwaukee Stamping Co. and the patent # is 1,936,969
I looked it up via the U.S. Patent Office and it is listed as patented in Nov. 1933
The frame is all metal and folds up ...suitcase style..with what seems to be a BAKE LITE handle.
The table top and seats are made of...what I percieve as old clipboard material...not wood, not cardboard, but sumthin similar to both.
It is in excellent condition, but heavy as all git out !
The PO coverd the seats and table top with contact paper which preserved it pretty well. I have stripped the paper off to reveal the original material.
The table set seems to be a 60s or 70s vintage, but that is just a guess on my part.
The frame around the table is the original yellow and the legs etc are black. A lotta VW camper bus guys have these tables and Imma ask around bout their history....anybody have any knowledge bout these tables ?
