Very cool indeed! It's a great piece on it's own, but being your grandfather's makes it a family heirloom.

And having family heirloom camping stuff= priceless

Neat ! If you've got other vintage camping equipment , or theme then that fits nicely!

And yes, being your grandfather's hopefully brings back some camping memories you had.

Nice. So superior to the mass market stuff out there today - actual sealing gasket, positive locking latch, metal hardware...

I really like the chain stay for the lid - wonder if that's original?

Nice one. I bet it will work better than a new one.

It is GREAT to have and to use things from your Granddad. I have the SnapOn rachet and a couple sockets that go with it that my Grandpa used when he was training to be in the Army's Motorcycle Corps. When his training was over, he was on the ship to go to WW1 and before they left port, the war was over!

No camping with my Grandfather unfortunately. He lived a long ways away. I'm torn.. I do not have a collection or even a good place to display this. In reality it doesn't have a lot of meaning to me (I kinda feel bad about that).

I am considering selling it... I'd like to see it preserved by someone that cares about this stuff. I DO like vintage "stuff" but this is just not a good fit for me...

That and the metal screw on drain plug. Yes, I'm sure they are both original.
