Vintage Cookware

Like many of you, I remember family camping trips and the tried and true Coleman stoves and lanterns. This forum sparked my interest in finding and restoring a few items, not to look at, but to have the fun of using them again as we did back then. I’ve now got a 413F, 425C, Speedmaster 500 and 502 stoves and an early 70’s 220 lantern. But I’ve never had any cookware except for a random collection of mostly beat up kitchen castoffs.

I just couldn’t seem to find any new nesting camp cookware like the old stuff we used to have. I recently found an old set like I remember: Vintage? Mirro Aluminum Company camp cookware. I managed to get it off Ebay at a decent price and it seems like the collectors have maybe not “discoveredâ€

I also love to old stuff, it really stands the test of time. That is one cool old aluminum cook set. Have never seen one in the wild.

Oh, oh. Now there's something else we got to collect.

COOL! :D

I picked up a few cast iron skillets that go well with the camping stoves but try not to over indulge because they are heavy. Now aluminum stuff would be the ticket.

Nice set Mike! Great camping history... I used to have something similar when I did car camping in my Maverick. Put some paper towels in between the items when you pack...will help to keep them from scuffing each other when driving down the road. Doug

Seeing all that stuff lets a lot of us go camping vicariously. A really nice Mirro cookware set. Thanks for sharing.

I have the same set! Mom bought through the Girl Scouts. I was even thinking of getting rid of it cuz I don't use it.
