I found this at a yard sale for $3 and could not pass it up.needed a gasget on thr fill and a good cleaning with carb cleaner, now it seems to work pretty good.Sure is a shame that the decals cost $12 shipped to replace the old ones.

Don't fergit the reflector handle accessorie or the bottom storage compartment thingy to store a genny and tools and mantles...then ya need a storage box fer the lantern.. one made of wood, onme of metal, and a plastic one also.

Then.. ya GOTTA have sum Coleman Lanturn LITES ! Yeah.. string lites !!

I'm jus tryin to help out my fellow "addicts' here...

I am married and my wife is neutral on the Coleman addiction so far. The other night I was wrenching on lanterns and she came out to the garage to see what I was up to. She saw all the lanterns and was surprised to see how many I had collected in a short time. She asked a few questions poked around a little and I think she decided that it was not a threat to her. So for now I am good.

The 228F showed up today,It was to easy replaced fuel cap with another old one that I replaced the O ring in already.
Question will it hurt to use a #21 mantle in this?Thats all I had.
And has anybody ever etched the glass to frost it.?
