Coleman Powerhouse! And Polylite2 w/pics

Postby campmaster-k » Thu Oct 27, 2011 7:04 pm

I just received my Coleman Powerhouse lantern that I WON on ebay. You folks were right the newer stuff is cheaper. Its a 1988. I dont know If I like it or not. I know one thing for sure it needs a red Coleman sticker on the front. Oh yea I also am starting to buy pretty much anything that says Coleman on it. Is that bad? I got this really cool 2 gal Polylite red jug at the boot fair last weekend. I was actually running after the pickup when it came to the flea because I saw the cooler in the back. My name is Kirk and I am a Colemanaholic. 8)

You are the only people who understand.

Kirk,
I have a special remedy for you! You'll need to attend the IRG 4.0 to be with like minded people (many who are actually potluck addicts with trailer problems) who are not only Coleman Keepers, but also have a case of cast ironitis.

Here is a pic of the Powerhouse. I burned it last night. I must admit I was impressed. Started right up very fine control of the light. I think it will be a great camping lantern to really use. It doesnt have as many cool intricate parts, however it is a very good lantern. No shelf queen here.

Kirk,

I stopped at the Coleman Outlet store and museum in Wichita on my way to LCG last week. They had more Coleman stuff than you could stand !! EVERYTHING you ever dreamed of Coleman making !!!

They even had a motorcycle high on a shelf, I didn't investigate it because another guy asked an employee for a ladder so he could see it closer and he was drooling all over it.

They had two guys in a workshop in the back rebuilding old Coleman gear. I asked for a part for a 413F and the guy picked one off the shelf in 3 seconds and handed it to me, it was like magic.

I would post some pictures, but I am guessing you gave up reading this post halfway through the text and hopped a plane to Wichita......
