Denios Flea Market in Roseville Ca is a Coleman Smorgie. Last Sunday my brother (a recently afflicted Coleman Keeper) and I scored 13 pieces. 8 stoves and 5 lanterns. Our adrenaline was pumping and our keen Coleman senses rooted out the gold. Aging Coleman products should be rescued and reborn. Here are my three.

Kirk
No connectoin between Coleman and A G M . As a matter of fact they were in competition with each other untill A G M closed.

Denios has a lot of good stuff from time to time. Last summer, all we found were 413's and they weren't all that old and other newer stuff I wasn't interested in. No lanterns at all to be had on that outing. I came back with a couple of pairs of leather gloves and a meat cleaver...Glad to hear you had some luck with it all. It does take a "hauler" for all your stuff....if you are in the buying mood! Nice AGM! Doug

You guys are poisoning me!!!! Help!!!!!

Next I'll be asking to meet up with you and you can teach me about what is a good Coleman and what is junk...and you'll show me beginner's pieces...

Or you may see me slinking around behind you pretending I'm not at all interested in Coleman, but watching and listening as you try to get good deals...

I live about 7 miles or so from Denio's..only been there twice. I may have to go again just to see what's out there!! Although I wouldn't know a good piece from junk, so I probably wouldn't buy any of it!

While dates are stamped on the tabs on many of the stoves, mostly the capsule type tanks....it's not true that they are stamped for all stoves. Model numbers, tank shapes/colors, handles, legs etc...will more accurately date an un-stamped tank stove. Doug

Doug...that is what I understood...that some pieces are coded as to what year or years they were manufactured. I need to print out the list from the sticky on this forum and take it with me...just so I have a clue if it's something good.

I'm going to start flipping lanterns over when I see them...you can never have too many lanterns (that comment ought to inspire people to post pictures of their collections!!)

Hopefully I'll rescue something this weekend....maybe after the DMV tomorrow. I know I'll be passing some thrifts...

OK kirk - Since you now have a few lanterns - its time to get the terminology correct

Hat = ventilator
tank= fount on (lanterns)
Handle= bail
