Nice Score!

Visited my barber Saturday, and he's moving to a new location. One of the walls in his shop was covered with old licence plates. He asked if I wanted any as he was just going to give them away or toss them. Not sure how to use them, but my TV is a Pickup, and in NY pickup's, had and some still do, have commercial plates. When parked at gatherings or campsites with my yet unfinished TD, I could hang the "com" plate over my truck plate, and the other one on the TD (Even though it's not a "trailer plate")

Good free score anyway.........

Nice!!!

I have a 79 (YOM for my Grasshopper) blue and gold CA plate I picked up. Just waiting for the laws to change some day and I'll get my plate changed over.

Good idea, though, to hang the plates on your vehicles at gatherings. I'll have to check into that for my setup...and yes, my plate is a trailer plate, with Aug 1979 tags still on it!!

Good find, and nothing beats free!!!

Just don't forget to take them off before you leave. I used to put 1967 South Dakota plates over my regular plates on my 67 Dart at car shows. One time I drove about 30 miles after leaving a car show, stopped at a restaurant to have an early supper, got wondering so walked over to the window to look at my car and sure enough I didn't remove the 67 plates.
I now have it registered under the 1967 plates, supposed to be to and from car shows and parades etc., but have seen people license an older car this way and daily drive it.
Have a 1954 unissued South Dakota trailer plate that I replace the teardrop plate with at car shows. Ebay is a great source for finding plates, and the prices don't seem too far out of line. Either that or nobody wants South Dakota plates.

Hook a few together and you could use it as a wind screen for dutch oven cooking!
