I think I got the better end of the deal but he offered and it is my first 242.
Cleaned it up a bit and replaced the fuel cap gasget and she burns nice and bright.Sorry about the sideways pix should have rotated before uploading.

I have another fount comming so if it is better I will strip the paint and see if she polishes up nice.

It has a 5 8 so is that august of 45 ? It is spiral sliced wire wrap used to bundle electrical wires,I put it on all of the bails so they dont beat up the paint.I get mine from work but this is what it is

The same stuff sold on Ebay they call bail wrap just cheaper when you buy in bulk.
