It real dirty but its not bent and the tank is healthy inside.

You did good Kirk!
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

Very well done Kirk....that is one of the newer stoves that I would really like to have. They only made them for 1 year I believe. Saw one in the campground near me last summer in use. I got a note from Donn and Donna a week or so ago about one that they had seen at Quartzite. I told them to get it...may have been too late though. Doug

I'd clean it up carefully with a lot of elbow grease and a nylon or softer brush, don't do a wire one!!!!...go with the grain of the aluminum stamping to get the grooves cleaned out. It's not an easy clean up, but can be an easy screw up. If you decide that you don't want to do the work on it....lemme know....I'd buy that one off you! Doug

Thanks Kirk....awesome stove. I got lots of elbow grease and will give it a great home! This is the type of thing that makes this forum such a great place to be. Wonderfully generous people willing to share with others. I'm stoked and have a brand new unused latch for it sitting right here on my computer desk for it!!!! Doug

An acid etch cleaner will clean that right op but you may need to shine it back up as it tends to dull the shine on non-anodized aluminum. If there is a anodized finish it will come out looking new! Eagle one makes a acid etch cleaner that works good for small projects. I use semi tanker wash on the teardrop.

Now you need its big brother: Image
This is mine on Terry marsh's site. I have both the 442 and 443. They only made them for one year only. There is a 442a version out there that is smooth aluminum.

Kirk,

to keep that safe from crack heads that want to sell it for scrap aluminum you had better send to me for safe keeping.

Nice wild find there. I did fine a Coleman oven today, but not the deal you got on that stove. I paid $8 for it.

8 bucks not bad, but not as good as $10 for a 442. The past 2 weeks I have haunted Ebay and am over my buying bing for now. I sold some old VWs that I was never going to be able to fix. Besides colemans are easier to move.

Better than what I just paid on ebay for a brown cooler and a turd!

But it will look really good with the Grasshopper!!! Really good. I'm just not finding the steel belted coolers in any shape for use around here!
