Is there a logo on the front? Sunshine of the night?
I just bought one today that has two tiny numbers under it. 4 and a 9.
Its a sept. of 1924.

Clean up the collar between the font and the burner frame. The model info should be there. That is assuming that the collar is there. I can't tell from the angle your pics was taken.

Does is say Quick Lite around the collar? With the green vent if it's the right one it would be 1928 or newer.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

This is an early Coleman circa 1920-1923. The vent is from a later model 1928 and up. The collar sure looks like a Air O Lite but the globe cage is wrong for a Air O Lite. Maybe it was changed at some point.

These are great lanterns. I have a couple and really enjoy them as I'm sure you will.

These lanterns need an external hand held pump. You can pick one up on ebay or buy a new one for about 20.00 at OldColemanparts.com.

You made a good find.

I was at an auction and it was is a row of stuff. They were selling "Choice" out of the row. Whenthe price got down to $10 I snagged it because I knew it was old, but I sure didn't know it was mismatched.

At 10.00 you got a very good deal. I wouldn't worry about it being "mis matched". Even from the pictures it's hard to ID it perfectly. You have a great lantern there and after you clean it up it will give an other 90 years of service.

It looks good even if it is mismatched...you rescued a really old lantern and will put it back in service, that's what counts. That is a really good buy...$10 for a Coleman that old!?

Just some of the parts are probably worth way more than that! You'll have fun fixing it up! Can't wait to see the pictures!
