What should I pay for a 4F?

Ok, you folks have worn me down and I'm thinking of picking up some white gas stuff. There was a 4F stove at the same junk dealer where I found the "Avon" lantern. It looked to be in pretty good shape with moderate rust on the wire legs, and not much pitting on the sheet metal. I couldn't find a date, but I assume it's later in the run because it has a brass tank and the sheet metal is green. What little I've found says the earliest were black and black.
I think I'll go back for a second look, any idea what I should offer?

Well. Last summer i bought a 4F for 8 bucks. Not to bad of shape. I would say that was at the extreme low end. I just saw one on FleaBay for about $90. With shipping. I would say in a face to face sale about $40.

I don't know....it's been a long time since I registered for the draft....I guess it depends on just how bad you want a 4F.

Some may get this humor...others may not 4F means unfit for service....sorry.....

How much you pay, sorta depends on how often you've seen them, how bad you want it, the condition it's in and what you're willing to pay. I've found stoves back to the 30's for as little as 10$ and have been given stoves from the 20's. I also have paid dearly for 1 that I really wanted.
