About two months ago I bought a 1948 220D. I might not should have bought it but I needed a fix. The main reason I bought it was because of the date. This thing was old and tired. The vent was dinged up pretty good and with the matching rust. There was no globe or fuel knob. The top had ditrt dobber nests in it and the coller was completely full of them. I took everything apart and cleaned it. I cleaned the vent and painted the rust spots with BBQ paint. Painted the cage with high heat silver. I bent the generator taking it out so I put in a new one in. Also a new globe, new rubber seal on the fuel cap, and a new leather pump. The fount has about a 50% chrome loss.

I had to walk away from this at least four times, but I kept reading and learning from here and the Coleman site. It's still not a looker but it is a burner. Sounds real good.

Before

and after.
It seem sometimes once these things are refurbed, they are like an old stray dog that you take in and feed. They just want to please you and run like a champ.
Thanks Keith
