Got to love the old stuff!

I posted in another thread about my weekend finds. One of the lanterns that I got was this Akron from the early 30's. I love to invision what these old things from the past willl look like once cleaned up and working again. I have to many lanters I am working on at once. Several torn down in different stages of repair. I didn't need to start another but I couldn't keep my mind and my hands off of this thing. I didn't have time for a full restore but I wanted to see if it would run. All I did was clean the globe ( the original) and give the thing a wipe down. The pump stem and check valve were stuck. A little carb cleaner and oil and it was free. Fresh fuel and mantles and we were in business.
This 77 year old plus, still runs with little effort. I hope to give it a full restore and let it take its proper place in my collection, but for now it will get to live as a part time working member in the shop. Let it breathe & let it live.
