How do tranport/protect your stoves

Postby Aaron Coffee » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:12 am

How does everyone tranport protect there stoves? I have been thinking of building a combination/stand but right now I am just in the thinking stage. For my anniversary gift at work I got a small cheap trunk organizer bag and measured it and it is about 9" too short to fit a stove, darn it, thought maybe I would get something that I could find a use for!
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

It depends on the stove. If it's just my daily cooker It gets folded up, sometimes stuck in an original box, I've got some 413 boxes, and put in the back of the truck with the coolers etc....If it's a nice showpiece, I protect the wings with some paper towels, and just close the lid on them, I don't put the fuel tank in the stove and do a complete fold up thing. Too many potential scratches. I set them each in a cardboard box on the bed in the tear and put clothes between them all. I've hauled 5 like that in the trailer along with 10 lanterns on the way to a Coleman gathering. No scratches. All of my stoves get cooked on, some just much more gently than others. Doug
