Today's success

A few weeks back we had to take Zoe the 17 year old cat to the vet to be put to sleep. On the way home in our grief I spied a yard sale with a vintage Coleman stove. The man running the sale said he comes across camping stuff often as his business was clearing out houses when someone passes or goes into a nursing home. I gave him my phone number and asked him to call me if he came across any gas lanterns. Well this morning he called me he said he had two lanterns and a stove if I was interested. Of course I said I was and off we went to see what he had. Well he had a Coleman gas lantern model 228F a Coleman propane lantern with the case and a propane stove I think Brinkman is the make. He also had some other items I spied as he was having a yard sale. One cast iron match holder/dispenser and a wood tackle box that belonged to his son.


I have in mind to use the box as my spice and seasonings for camping.
All for $60 dollars but the best thing for me is the lantern works. I was able to light it and it works perfectly. Now I am just about ready for the IRG. I also have this old cooktop but I have no information on it. Anyone have a clue?

While I have no specifics on that cook top....I do have stove envy...that's a nice one...even if it is propane! Nice patina on the box...and a great score on the lantern! doug
