Humphrey Lantern in harvest gold

Postby SpeedWagon » Tue Jun 12, 2012 7:23 pm

I am taking apart my old pickup camper/bird sancuary, and I had a few parts that are too cool to pitch.
This lanters was mounted on the wall in the camper and ran off LP.

The lantern was made by Humphey in Kalamazoo, Mi, I never used it for fear that It might burn down the camper, truck, dog, and my beer when I was out in the woods with out a good way to get back home.
I have already passed on a couple of windows from this camper on to my brother for his mini camper, his wife wanted better ventilation, and I use to share a room with my brother as a kid and I know her pain.

This was a very small bathroom window on the back of the camper, check out the cool vintage Alaska camping sticker.

Good honk, what mantle is on that lamp? and can I have it for my Tilley lantern?

Good to recycle these things. I am always on the look out for someone tearing down an old camper. In my TD I have a 7 panel jalousie window from a 1955 Shasta. I would like to get other windows like it. Many people say they let in dirt/dust but I have not had any problems and I have well over 1000 miles of gravel and dirt roads.

That Humphrey lamp is very cool. A lot of people here are reluctant to run them in their camper for fear of carbon monoxide or oxygen depletion. My Serro Scotty has an original.

They still make them but not in that color. They're pretty pricey new. You could probably make a buck selling that to the right person - looks like new.

The photo shows the lantern as a brighter yellow than it is. Maybe if some one is making a goldilocks theme teardrop, this would fit right in.
I had not really thought about any market for the lamp, but I do not plan on using it my self, any inerest?
Any one looking for an old 3 burner stove in avocado? You have to love 1972.

I don't love 1972 that much.
