426 3 burner finished....

Postby doug hodder » Sun Aug 05, 2012 3:37 pm

I picked up this 3 burner no letter stove from a Coleman forum member. 20$ and I was able to go pick it up. It's the first year that they offered up a 3 burner model. 1949-50. I used it at the IRG and it was a great runner. Stripped it Fri. night, sanded and primed yesterday, painted it this morning. It's going to be regular user for me. It holds the oven really well, and gives me another 2 burners to cook on at the same time. Perfect for that biscuits and sausage gravy thing. Doug

the Museum........It's amazing, row after row of beautifull gas pressure appliances. fantastic gift shop, knowledgable docent, and a line to get in that wraps around the block.

or it's an old guy with a bunch of old crap, you decide

I want to go to the museum too, but I heard the cafe isn't as good, now that they've changed chefs. It my understanding the old one took the best waffle dogger. We do need to get there, however, before they raise the price to accommodate the new limited traveling engagement exhibit. "How Ruby Got Hot & Anne of Green Fount". However, I may wait for holiday exhibit, "Christmas Lanterns I Have Known-Mantles on the Mantle".

Oh and get it straight, George. It's a FAT guy with a bunch of old crap. Geeze, didn't you buy the souvenir tee shirt when you were there? ;) ( re post of Doug's post picture would go here if it wasn't almost 2 in the morning and I was less lazy.

Yup, I would eat biscuits and gravy off that. Nice stove. Last Dec. I picked up a barely used 426B. Have only used it a bit in the house.

Is it art or science? I think it is both. Nice work again.
