Utility Trailer Floorplans

Postby jeffrla » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:45 pm

Hi all,

This is my first post so please excuse me here.

I have been reading a lot of the posts and really get a kick out of the ingenuity that people have in how they design their teardrops.

Here is my problem. I have a 6x10 utility trailer with fairly high siderails. It is a home built I bought and the side rails are about 20" high. It has an expanded metal drop ramp/tailgate and a diamond plate bed.

I was hoping to be able to build some sort of hut/structure that I could put on and take off when I need to use the trailer to haul other stuff like my garden tractor or junk.

I would like to build a travel trailer that would sleep myself, my wife and our two daughters. I have a few ideas on the beds, but am running into a brain block from there.

I was thinking of placing two 4'-5' bunk beds across the front, one for my wife and I and the other for the kids. I would like to have some sort of bathroom for the girls, even if it is just a porta potti.

anyway, I was wondering if anyone could suggest any floorplans for a small travel trailer that would have a rear access door?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, you might want to check out starleen2's build at http://www.txstewartfamily.com. It's not built on a utility trailer but easily adaptable.

Welcome and that won't be hard

How committed are you to a back door? Here are some builds that might get you comfortable.

Mine is 6' across and is easily adapted to your needs. If I could do it over I would put the bed across the wheels and anything up front.
