High 2+2

Postby angib » Wed Mar 16, 2005 7:20 pm

I've added a couple of minor designs to my site:

- a 5 ft high version of the 2+2, to give better headroom (bottom of the page);

- a revised version of the Cabin Car design, now with full geometry info.

I like the new higher 2+2. It's proportions are much better, and the extra height will make a world of difference on the inside! Good job Andrew!

Andrew,

Thanks for the update on the Cabin Car. Since I updated my page for it with all the additional pictures I've gotten several requests for detailed dimensions.

Still waiting for the owner to get it out of storage to take more pictures. When is winter over in Canada anyway?

Nick.

I'm not surprised - using the photo on my web page makes the body quite a different height-to-length ratio from Art's figures that you quote. Exact dimensions would be good, as would an exactly side-on photo to trace over.

Thanks to you for finally solving the interior layout dilemma!

Andrew,
This 2x2 is awsome. I have been looking for a design that would have room for the kids and this is great! Have you built one of these yet or know of anyone that has?

As far as I know, Ken Tipton is the only one that's started building a 2+2, but he's just using the profile and designing the rest himself.

If there's anyone else, please chip in here.

Well I'll be darned...
I'm glad to see other 5' tall body designs.
That profile looks very nice Andrew.
I've been messing with my body profile to see what I can do to hide all that "stuff" hangin' out of the bottom of my trailer.
I've bumped the body height up to 5'.
I also added 6" to the body length, taking it back to 11'.
It sure makes things a lot more roomier, but will take some time to update all the changes it has caused with the design.
I'm going to "chew" on this for a bit before committing myself to yet another design change. :?
