Airstream Basecamp

Postby Rick Sheerin » Sat Nov 12, 2005 6:39 am

Has anyone seen the new Airstream Basecamp yet? It's 12.5ft L and 6.5ft wide so I would assume it classifies as a TTT. Looks good like a Airstream should but a little on the pricey side(about 20k). Any thoughts besides the fact it's shaped like the CampInn Raindrop? And in all fairness Airstream had that profile first back in the 30's for homebuilt plans,so I guess Nissan went Retro with the design(yes, Nissan designed this for Airstream).

Which "airstream look" are you referring to? It pretty much matches the shape of one of Byam's first creations- the 1935 "Torpedo", with the rear end squared off. In fact the T @ B profile looks like an exact tracing of the torpedo side profile
