Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

unusual trailer sites found

Postby Ron Dickey » Tue Apr 20, 2004 7:22 pm

I am a new member.
I am still in the planning stage for a trailer. Teardrop like design. Though I prefer the traditional look. New ideas and old lost ideas compell me on.

The only problem I have with small trailers is you are often left to use public facilities.

I love looking at unusal ideas, and ideas and sharing them with others.

The below site is from UK but orig. in france.
go to trailers click on "multi-purpose"

www.ecim.fr/pages/anglais/

also for those who have not seen it yet is the T'van sport. smaller then the orginal one.
http://www.tracktrailer.com/TvanSport.html

can you picture a teardrop that opens out like a Tvan? would look like a modern campmaster.

IF you like tiny trailers with facilities, you may be more interested in the new T@B2. It's a tandem axle trailer with bathroom and shower inside.

By the way, see how you have 2 duplicate messages up there? Click on the little x in one of them, (upper right hand corner of the message). It'll go away! :)

Looking at this from the side. This looks like a true teardrop shape. With the exception that the kitchen is in the front. I'd still call this a teardrop.
Shape just looks right. More so than some of the ones that are called teardrops and don't have the shape.

I have always liked the T@B ever since we saw one up close on an RV lot a month or so ago. The interior is layed out very well. Not so sure I would want to cook and sleep in the same small space. I would love to see the tandem. Is it out yet? The price of these things is hard to take, but I like the idea.

T@B in Germany

Postby John B. » Wed Apr 28, 2004 5:42 pm

When I was driving around in Germany (I spent a year in Europe last year supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom) I saw a T@B long before they were imported into USA. Go to http://www.tinytears.cc/germtear.html to see some pictures.

T@B Clamshell

Postby whippeteer » Tue Nov 29, 2005 9:00 pm

T@B now has a clamshell version with the kitchen in the rear ala a traditional teardrop. Wish I had the money.

T@B2

Postby dgoy » Mon Dec 05, 2005 7:41 pm

I asked T@B where to get information on the new T@B2 trailer with the tandem axle with shower and bath inside. They replied " that there has been mention of it around the product development meetings but no definite inroads have been made to that end yet". "As yet they have no plans to build it."

Someone on this forum must have ESP powers.

That's almost $22,400! It better be twice the size of a regular T@B because it cost almost twice as much.

Isn't that why we build, rather than buy? ;)
