Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

I hate that when I've seen something and can't remember where it was ...

Here is the first trailer I built, it was a M416 inspired design.

Has anyone had experience with the Jumping Jack trailer?

If you have toys like ATVs this looks like a nice trailer.

The one I checked out was out in the rain, it was leaking some from the top of the windows. Looked like some seam sealer would take care of it. At 1200 lbs, their dry weight is a bit heavy for me.

Expeditions West did a good review on them, see http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipmen ... _jack.html

I poked around in one quite a bit at an off-road show. Not bad, setup was pretty fast, but it was $$$$. If you had stuff piled on the cargo rack, you needed to remove all the stuff to get the tent up. And really, it's still a tent. That's where I keep coming back to. I'm tired of tent camping, the setup time, etc. And my current trailer IS a tent trailer I built....

The expedition type trailers have thier place. For me, I'd just tow a M416 type trailer with a tent in it. Seems easier overall. That's actually where I started, with a 4x4 utility trailer converted to offroad use. (well, it was a 4x8 HF special, cut in half, with a 31"'s on a bigger axle..)

The factory is just down the street from me at work. I've seen them several times. The tent is very much like the high-end Springbar tents and is well made. It pops up in less than 2 minutes, if that. They are very roomy inside because they open up to 12'x8'.
