Now here is some ideas Im condidering for my next build, a standie! I like the idea this guy had, but I would lay tarpaper down, then that ice dam on the 2x4's then the metal roofing... add 2" foam on the inside and use strips of wood between the 2x4 rafters on the inside and varnish it all for a nice look!

Thanks Becky, I saw it and thought it was interesting...especially the roof. Im not overly keen on the black roof, Im gonna have to get it white or something since it does get warm in there if the sun shines on it.

my plan is to lay down stips of 1/2 inch plywood with 1/2 foam insulation and then cover the floor with 1/4 pine plywood to give a non toxic interior floor. will look to either vinyl or wood

hope to finish framing soon and start getting metal for siding and move it out to put roof on.
we are goint to start using it unfished for now, since it is for a deer camper.
we may work on it as the middle of the day is sorta get out of the woods and take a break.

I am using a batton to approximate the roof line. (yes my shop rafters are too low, will have to move it outside to finish roof). My plan is to place a 1/2" sheet of 12" x 96" ply on top of the end wall and trace this arch. then i will put two panels together and cut the curve out. Then i will use this as a pattern to cut same curve on three 2 x 12 8 foot long. I will also cut out arch on under side parrell to the top. Once the arcs are made, i will lay out 5 notchs, 16 inch on center for the perlons to sit in to hold up the roof. I will first lay in 4 sheets of 1/8 luan so as to extend over the sides and ends by several inches. Then 30# builders felt, then 29 guage metal 15 feet long to give me a watertight roof.

but that is another story.....

sorry for no update.
been working on just too many things at once.
built a fence, had a garage sale, fixed my Ural
and worked on the camper.

i will update some pics soon.
but,

we got the metal and started putting it on last night. I built a door and installed it yesterday, drilled a hole for lock and the jig was set at the wrong setting and now i need to buy a new lock instead of repurposing an old one.
build two bunks accross the front and started on over the location of the dinette,

stay tuned....film at 11.
