Hey, Johnny,

I was just thinking that your trailer should be called the "Turkey" cause it's gonna be Thanksgiving until the weather is cool enough for you to work on it!!!!

I don't think it's a matter of if you will be welcome at t/d gatherings, but more, 'will you fit' in the campground....

Ok...too #@&%* HOT for any real progress, but we were standing at the back of the frame the other day and thought..."This thing is kind of skinny.". So now the floor plan has changed, and I'm glad I decided to move the axles, I think a "bare bones" galley plan has flown out the window.('specially after Kim saw spinnernut's galley at a gathering a while back)
Image
Drawing is not to proper scale or dimensions. I'm at work and don't have my slide rule with me.
Now instead of plywood directly to the frame, I'm gonna build a floor frame, out of 2X4s polly, and hang the side out even with the tires. Is this gonna be a problem???

Image
Also redesigned the galley to be more like a grass hopper, dang, if this keeps up I'm gonna need a bigger truck.

I know about heat! I was working the other day, and it was so hot, I was exhausted in less than an hour (about 110º). You can do stupid things when you are working in the heat. I shot a 2" finish nail through the tip of my middle finger! Had to use my horn all week!

Lots of folks build over their tires. Just make sure your wheel wells are water tight and you have enough clearance!

I don't know what you have for a truck now, but I doubt my Frontier would haul that thing!
God Bless

Cliff

I figure the tongue weight will be in the 500# range...... wheels near back make it much more towable, but put a lot of weight forward..

Quick question...I'm gonna frame my floor now(instead of putting the plywood right on the frame)can I use pressure treated 2X4s for that, or do I just get regular pine and coat it with black goo?

I'd stay away from PT wood. I'd use good, dried lumber and goo it.
