So for an update! I've got a couple of cell phone pics that aren't all that great, but you'll get the idea.

Looks pretty awesome. I will be interested in seeing some inside photos. How is the headroom?

Head room is good, just in the back half. Which is acceptable because i will only be siting or laying down in the front half. OK now for some updated pics!
:D

Here is good view of the rear door. The top half flips up and acts as a little roof, the bottom half is pretty standard. On the inside of the top half is a screen that folds towards the front. It works pretty good. It does take away from the head room a little, but i can live with it.

OK, a little explaination, for more breathability, I wanted some windows a little higher up in the rig. For now i'll use some window screening that will roll down and cover the gap while the 'window' is not installed. You'll see the insert in one of the next pictures. The rest of the sides forward of the window simply fold in during travel.

Top stowed ready for travel!

AH - I love plan B for the upper door - The flip up hatch   pure genius - it even allows for the functionality of the lower door when closed :applause: :applause:

Very well thought out, you should get some good dry sleeps in that.

thanks hugh, i sure hope so!

stonykill, we'll see. I looked at the prices and if i bought a set, i'd spend half as much as i got in the camper. We'll try lifting it by hand at first, then i'll get a bettre idea at what i need.

Since the campertop is low it would fit in a garage on top of the truck, so one could use the rafters of a garage as the hoist frame.
