I've been working on variations of the Grasshopper design. I've got one that is 10 feet long by 5ft wide. It has substantial storage space, and it is wide enough for a queen size mattress.

Anyway, I was sitting at my computer and asked my wife if she would go camping in such a thing. She said, "yep."

Well, what more do I need than that?

Yuo need to get started just remember the best tool you can have in your tool box is a "check book" with a big balance

Congratulations on your design success! Having your wife on board for the project will make it a lot more fun. It's always more fun to share the successes with someone.

I'm in the process of building a 5X10 grasshopper. The frame is coming together nicely and only needs a couple of more days work before it is done.

I look forward to hearing more about your 'hopper!

Karl, it looks like you have a nice layout there. 3-d drawing is very difficult without 3-d software. I've tried it on a few occasions and quickly abandonded the effort. Your drawing is better than what I've been able to create.

I am looking a a Grasshopper that is built at a factory, not homebuilt. It has Grasshopper decals and is abot 11 ft long, more than 6 ft wide and at least 6ft tall outside- about 4' 11 " inside. It has two large vertical back doors. Left one is access to he trailer, right one access to the vertical kitchen.
Anyone seen one? Anyone have any info on the factory? Are original grasshoppers wood or Aluminum framed ? What would the 11 or 12 ft model possibly weigh? Do you know any factory Grasshopper owners?
Any leads appreciated!
