The plans for the Phoenix (http://www.rqriley.com/phx.html) could be adapted to make huge teardrop.

Mr Riley's wife was a crossing guard at my grade school in Phoenix...

You'd think they would have come up with that last idea down under... Seems they never sleep on the ground...
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

I drew up a one sided variant with more storage space a while ago - interesting idea to adapt to a teardrop but you would require a long flat piece to fold down from - a curved top would give you a bed with a curved side
