The plans for the Phoenix (http://www.rqriley.com/phx.html) could be adapted to make huge teardrop.

I drew up a one sided variant with more storage space a while ago - interesting idea to adapt to a teardrop but you would require a long flat piece to fold down from - a curved top would give you a bed with a curved side
