The conversion of Boogie

I just found this site. Very cool indeed. I have been building a 7' trailer converted from an old military shipping container. I have virtually every item for it, just putting it on as I get the chance. I call it Boogie.

Interesting camping trailer, is the whole box made out of fiberglass? How much does it weight?

It weighs on the box about 340 lbs, before my additions. But I took a few military options off it, like shelving brackets. It is 95% fiberglass but has some lightweight metal (not aluminum I don't think) for lifting options.

I paid $200, added some insulation, luann interior panels, 12 volt for lights, fan, and cd player, rocker switch panel. Bought some surplus Marine port windows with screens. The trailer is adjustable and cost me $250 with the LED lights.

I have an old mattress off an Arco Supertanker and a cut down futon frame, storage underneath.

I bought it in Utah and slept in it comming home, very quiet and it was one of those really hard rain nights too. Dry as a bone. I have about $600 into it including trailer now.

The NSN for the storage unit is 8145-01-118-9874. Below are some specs for it. They don't weigh a whole lot and really are not that wide. Go to govliquidation.com and search your local state, by a single word (ie fiberglass) or by NSN and get a listing to review. Register and bid to win. Auctions are usually open for only 3 days.
