Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

a/c cover

Postby bare metal rods » Sun Jul 20, 2008 11:10 pm

kind of of topic for the t.d. stuff but it is on a small airstream. and the owner does have a t.d. also
the customer wanted to get rid of the ugly plastic a/c cover and wanted to have somthing that looked like it went with the trailer.

thanks for looking
johnny

That is a real serious build - very nice. Looks like you need special tools and machines to do it right.

Did you use the plastic cover as the pattern or did you alter?

thanks marilyn

yes it took some special tools to make.

i used the plastic cover for a few measurements, then put some style on it to make it look a little better.

Looks nice Johnny,

Do you want to offer these to other people? If so I will pose the question to other Airstream owners I know.

Johnny,

Email me those pictures (I can't pull them off the net for some reason), and let me know an idea of what a cover will cost. I will make a posting with your email info. I think they will be a hit.

Very nice! What is it, aluminum or steel? Did you coat it?

(Forgive my ignorance, I'm weak on metal)
God Bless
