How simple can it get?

I was thinking of building a tear this spring.
I like the KISS.
I use to drive alot in my car, and when I got tired, I had to stop and take a one hour nap.
So I have slept in the back of my Subaru Impreza wagon, only about 5 feet of length in cargo area, very uncomfortable, but it worked.
Today I was in my car, and for some reason thought about the above, and how nice it will be to have a few extra feet in the tear when I go camping.
Then I thought, what if I removed the passanger seat, and center counsel, left them at home, installed some type of temporary platform from the dashboard to the fold down rear seats. I only need to sleep one.
I would then get some kind of event tent with mosquito netting sides, park the car under the tent, open the hatch, pull out a 'galley in a box', and I would be set.
It probably would not take too much effort to find a way of being able to remove the drivers seat too.
Then I had an even better idea, which would be some type of quick release so that the front seat (or seats) could be removed, temporarily stuck outside the car, to be used for outdoor seating.
Can it get simpler, and still camp off the ground?
