have a chance to get this for a very low price FREE :)

thinking of just doing a simple trailer 5 x 8 with 2x4 studs and 1/4 inch plywood for the outside
total inside height would be 4 feet what do you think, ideas, suggestions, tips etc

Sounds great....

Here another idea for that topper. Its not much in length, so to add room, make the side doors drop down and be supported by an inside cable system. Take the top and have it pop-up or crank up (if you can figure it out) or have it pump up to give you standing room. Tie the panels with the interior with cloth fabric. The drop side doors become your beds.

This makes a 'Bethany' slide-in camper.

 It's late but I got lost. Are you going to put this on a trailer? Why do you need 2x4's?

Looks like a workable camper to meeee.

was thinking due to the total height being 5 feet that to withstand 65Mph i would have to build the wood frame out of 2x4's can anyone point me to a lighter construction material for frame; skin; floor etc

Thank you for the help

Depends how deep yer pockets are. Most of the aluminum skinned trailers use 1X2, 1X3 for framing. High end ($$$) ones will use a welded aluminum frame. As for skin, you have a wide choice; aluminum, eposxy over plywood, fiberglass, etc

GOT the trailer :D

Carry on 5 X 8 mesh floor with gate
weight is 400 Lbs
-40 for gate
-10-15 for mesh and other unused parts
= 350 ish for trailer weight
Has 6 inch sides went with that to add more structure to the camper for the corner jacks and provides good attachment point for tables and such without mounting right to the wall skin

total price for the trailer was 560.00 and just found out the gate is sized

Pick it up next Saturday and start the work Monday night
