Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

First off, new member, great site, I am in heaven here

Okay, now my issue. Wife and I did some tent camping, she hates tents..... So I need some ideas on how to make a camper that I can pull behind my Dodge Dakota that not only allows wife and I to camp out of, but also has room and access to put my Yamaha Vstar (600 lbs) motorcycle in. I am thinking a squared off design with a single drop back door to use as a ramp, or double doors that open outward and just use a ramp. The issue comes with floor space, the motorcycle will take up a lot of floor space. I am thinking that everything will need to hinge up out of the way when the motorcycle is inside, and then drop down for camping once the motorcycle is unloaded. I would like to base this off a simple trailer, as I have plenty of woodworking tools and experience, nothing on the metal working or welding side. Any thoughts on size and design would be greatly appreciated.

Someone on this forum posted a link to a teardrop that was for sale on eBay. This teardrop had galley cabinets that would swing inwards so that a motorcycle could be hauled inside. This was a while back so I don't remember the details.

You guys had better archive that listing. It closed on Oct 31, I think eBay only keeps listings for 90 days. Doors are a bit small but it is a cool trailer. I like that pic where it is slammed down to the ground.

Better hope you don't have any fluids leaking out of your bike. Seems that would be pretty nasty to sleep in there if it did!!!

It's a jap bike, they don't leak, your thinking of Harleys.

Was just gonna say the same thing, now if I had my old Harley, you would need a drip pan under it, lol.

Wish i could tell you were i found this pic. But I thought this was a pretty cool concept.

I believe that one was designed as a quad hauler. Personally I think it is a very poorly thought out design. I know if I put my 600# Polaris on the front of there the only thing that would be able to handle the tongue weight would be a full size pickup. There's no way I could get enough weight in the galley to compensate for the quad. JMO

I think Mike doctored that picture to where he had the wheels in front of the door. He probably still has it somewhere. Mike?
