I almost expected that to have a rather deep draft, but it didn't. Too bad a body can't find any build details, even that old of a build. I suspect we could all use a few tips from him on building light.

I have been thinking about a pop-up foamie version of a Dianne's Rose.

I'm currently thinking of constructing a Slidavan to mount onto a buoyant base with small fold down bow and stern decks.
I haven't got as far as deciding whether to build it with a fold up drawbar and road wheels which raise up out of the water or to have a separate trailer with a small winch to assist loading!
The latter is far less demanding to work out how to bring it into being!
When not on the water or on it's trailer, it'll be a free standing self contained compact cabin!

It makes a pretty good little cabin on the trailer. For my use I think I want a trailer I can leave with the car at a boat ramp.

Retractable trailer wheels will add complexity to an already more complex than a standard teardrop.
Look at what they use for ice fishing trailers for a relatively simple wheel retraction system.
