Well! I've made some progress. Enough to go "Yamping" a few times and sleeping in my driveway a few times just because I could!
Works pretty well, just need to finish up on the details.
Faux rivets, a tedious work in progress, but I love the look!

Finally moved the axle aft a foot or so, the fender still isn't mounted.

Various shots still in the driveway...

I'm going with a brown paper bag wall covering that I learned about here. It isn't done yet

And at a family property about 10 miles from home, with a built fire ring and 110 AC to plug into to see how that system works ( and a toilet and phone and such in case I panicked!)

Still haven't shortened the tongue

I like the windows. I don't think that I have ever seen any like them.Where did you find windows like that and how do they work? Do they have screens? Do they lock from the inside? Do you have to open them from the outside or can you push them open from the inside?

Hi Sharon, The windows came from a marine consignment shop nearby. In fact most everything hardware like came from there, hinges, door locks, (Cabelas) battery charger, 12 volt distribution panel and all the interior lighting. There is a lot about the boating world that transfers directly to the Teardrop world! Small, efficient, watertight, 12 volt.... Hey, why do you think we refer to incoming A.C. as "shore power"!
I'm thinking of buying 2 more and installing them over the interior incandescent lights but I am really loathe to cut holes in my roof. They were about $20 apiece. Want me to see how many more are there? They open from the outside, smoked glass and have screens, but don't lock. Also an inside trim ring that works perfectly with my 1 1/2" walls but wouldn't with thicker. Thinner would be doable.

Re: My "Depotless Home". 1/8/13 Fenders painted and mounted

Postby Dean in Ct. » Tue Jan 08, 2013 5:10 pm

A little too cold to do much but I have been able to paint and mount my fenders! They are actually a little too small. When I began I was thinking like a motorcycle fender where it wants to be absolutely as close as possible.I hadn't figured that on a MC the fender travels with the wheel! Oh well! I can live with it!
Also I believe I have figured out how to post acceptable pictures. Don't want any "asshats" getting on my case!

Finally able to work outside! In the sun!
Pretty much finished the rivet look, and trimmed up some of the sloppy painting. Here's the fenders from a distance, and I think you can see the rivets. Also the black rustoleum on the frame is re done.

I cant decide if the tongue box should be yellow too. Opinions?

Being one who loves the color yellow yes on the tongue box,, plus I think it would give it a balanced look colorwise.

:applause: very nice tear
