Number 4 the 5 footer

Postby ssrjim » Fri Apr 12, 2013 12:11 am

My buddy and I are a couple days into Teardrop number 4. This will be the first 5 foot wide. Need to order some parts, that will slow us down waiting for the brown truck:)

I am building a 6 ft wide just down the road from you 7th ave and 101. My first one so I did not have that much progress in 4 days. I am just hoping to camp this year with mine....

I'm curious about all of the extra blocks in the spar bays, and the decision to add the centerline blocking between spars. Could you share your thoughts on these, please?

It looks good and you are making good progress!

I added extra block on the side in the top bay as well. Just extra bracing.

The center blocks stiffen things up nicely.

Looks great!!!

Are you putting a roof vent in?

What is the hurry that you are building this so fast?

Yes it has a vent. When the paint has been on a few more days we will run a trim router around the opening.

No hurry, it just goes fast.

Today seems like we didn't get as far. Got the hatch installed and skin on the doors.

Yes that's him in the big van.

I told him to take it to the parade and gathering in Showlow.
