Guntr, My camper had a closet for hanging clothes. Complete waste of space. The Puck was vintage and I didn't want to alter it, so I made a removable shelf with minimal brackets. The dishpans went on the shelf and the closed door kept everything in place.

Black Goo Down

Postby Guntr » Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:48 pm

I've been dreading this step since the beginning. Finally took the plunge tonight! I must say, not as bad as I thought it would be.

Anyone ever apply a second coat of this stuff? Definitely going to touch up a few spots.

I love self-tapping screws!

Used some insulation padding to line the trailer, stuck it down with black goo. Then flipped and re-centered the floor on the trailer frame. Added 80-ish self-tapping screws which worked much better than I thought they would.

Heading out to tent camp this weekend, but hope to get some more progress done next week.

Nice looking build. I tow with a corolla. You're going to want to keep a very careful eye on the weight. Adding a water tank that filled adds almost 150 lbs to the total weight dramatically changed how the tear tows. Do you have an automatic or manual?

Hi robertey,

Wasn't planning on carrying a full water tank. More likely just a 5 gallon camping water jug we'll fill up on site for dishwashing, etc., and a water cooler type bottle for drinking water. I understand the thinking though, when trying to stay light every single piece of wood, or accessory put inside adds significant weight.

I have an automatic. The owner's manual says it has a 1500lb towing capacity, but any extra passengers or cargo in the car take away from that so I'm aiming to keep my tiny camper under 1000lbs.

Quick update: Did NOTHING the last week of my vacation but yard work and install a new washer/dryer and now my wife is back to working weekends so very little time free. Really hope to make some progress this week.
