Whetzeldorf #5

Postby prohandyman » Tue Jul 09, 2013 5:26 pm

Started # 5 in the series in June for a customer in Penn. this one has a more vintage flair...birch cabinets, aluminum trim, last piece of Boomerang Formica I had for counters, vintage looking aluminum on exterior, Jouloise windows, etc. the white panel seen in one of the pics against the wall is a fold down table for eating, using a laptop, etc.

Very nice Dan! Too bad the boomerang laminate is no longer (affordably) available. I really like the two-tone exterior.

Camper being picked up this Sunday. The color over bright polished may become the standard design. And of course the creased aluminum adds to the vintage look. Went with an awning from Marti...she does fabulous work!

Well done Dan! It's got a great vintage feel to it...I dig the clock as well! Whose door is that? Doug

Dug
The door is an Atwood from a salvage yard. The drip rails over the windows help blend the look of the radius on the newer style door. As you know a vintage door a prescious commodity. I painted an aluminum color to look a little more vintage.

Dan,

Fantastic work! It looks great. I look forward to following your next larger build.

Without taking away from your thread, can you say if the modern RV doors can be disassembled? For a build I'm considering, I'd like to replace the interior and exterior door skins with a different material.

Thank you for your time and for sharing photos of your beautiful builds.

Sincerely,
Tom

Looks really good. And perfect behind that beautiful pickup.
